HTM’s Rice Husk Power Generation Program

Rice husk is one of the by-products produced during in rice processing. The combustion of rice husk is over 70%, and its calorific value is about 12.5~14.6KJ / kg, which is about half that of standard coal. Therefore, rice husk is a convenient and a cheap renewable energy source. Rice husk has a high volatile component, up to 50, making it is easy to burn. Rice husk has a small bulk density, about 130 kg/m, which makes it inconvenient for transportation, and prone to mildew and fire. The common treatment of rice husks is to be crushed as feed ingredients (with the addition of few nutrients) or directly for heating, but there is still a large number of rice husks left untouched, resulting in pollution of the environment. In this aspect, HTM makes great efforts to the research and the development of rice husks and successfully establishes a biomass/rice husk power generation system, using waste rice husk to generate electricity. This, in turn, supplies the entire rice processing plant and other auxiliary facilities with electricity. HTM recycles rice husks, greatly reducing the operating cost of the rice milling plant.
